People keep recommending The Sea Fry chippy to me, so I tried it today. They do gorgeous, chunky, traditional style chips which are really tasty and not too greasy. I also had a vegetarian pastie which was amazing and very flavourful. Just the right amount of salt and vinegar on the food too and the potions are very generous. I found the prices similar to other chip shops around the area, with a pastie and large gravy chip costing around £5.

As with a lot of chip shops there's not a huge vegetarian selection, however the pastie was so good I've already decided to try a pastie and salad bap on my return. Of course, there's always onion rings and I think the chips would be delicious with any sauce or topping. A perfect lazy-day dinner or hangover cure. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to The Sea Fry.

Got a chip from here and I've had way better, the chips were soggy and waxy tasting. We ate our chips about a minute after getting them, we ate them in the car.  I only gave the sea fry 3 stars as I only had chips from here and not tried anything else. Prices are reasonable.  2 small chips for £3.

One of the best chippys in Belfast. Fish and chicken burgers especially good. Can be real busy at peak times but you can phone ahead and even pay by card in store. Dedicated owner always there making sure everything is top notch. I don't go anywhere else.

I used to go to the school very near the Sea Fry. We used to nip out many a lunch time a frequent this establishment for a sausage supper.

I had not been there for a couple of years until a couple of months ago I was driving by on a friday night around tea time. Its was busy and I thought that I would just leave it, but I decided to go on in anyway for nostalgias sake. I got my a battered sausage supper and some chicken goujons for my wife. The goujons were the kind that melt and and crumble in your mouth all at once. I couldn't believe what I had been missing all those years since school!!!

Its is well known as being one of east Belfast's best chip shops. On the menu is all of the usual suspects burgers, fish, chicken and chips.
Its a shame I don't live closer or I would frequent much more often.

Ethical place this. The owner seems to do a fair bit of work for charity. Quite a few posters up on the wall about it, So while cramming fish and chips down your neck and feeling guilty you aren't having salad you can alleviate the guilt thinking about the people you are helping.
I've been dropping in here when calling round to my friend's house on and off for a few years and for some reason never thought to review it (is a chippie not enough of an event to think to review it?). Its always been great, seems to be a few pennies more than you would pay in most other chip shops for the same thing, due to the owner making such contributions to charity I've never thought anything of it and been happy to pay. Not least of all am I happy to pay as the food is usually very good and came in decent portion sizes..........until my last visit anyway. It's sad that it was a less satisfactory visit that finally prompted me to write a review of a place I've been to plenty of times. On my last visit I ordered my chicken fillet burger (fully dressed) and a large chip. Where I was left underwhelmed was not the very slight impression of a tiny drop in quality, after all everywhere fluctuates a tiny bit from visit to visit, it was the value for money. As I mentioned the prices were already a little higher than some other places and they now seem to have gone up. We're still not talking very much here though. However, when this happens at the same time as the portion sixe seems to reduce drastically it's not good. The large chip was tiny, and I mean tiny, if I had to put a number on it I'd say 60% of the normal size. The chicken burger usually barely fist in the box but this time the bap was considerably smaller and it still made the chicken fillet look smaller still. Also the *fully dressed option was about to bit of shredded lettuce, no tomato and no mayo. I'm hoping this was just a one off, but with the burger and baps shrink at the same time then it would seem to me that they've made a conscious effort to buy cheaper from a different supplier rather than just a coincidence.
